North London Sustainable Housing Partnership (NLSHP) was set up in the summer of 2011 in response to the announcement of the sale of the St. Luke’s Hospital site in Woodside Avenue, Muswell Hill.
THe group are currently developing ideas and partnerships for a cohousing project at the St Lukes site. Fot those of you who like me only have a vague idea of what co-housing is. the group describe it as support a mixed income community by providing a range of housing with a choice of tenures including buying, renting and shared ownership. The aim is to bring individuals and families together in groups to share common aims and activities while also enjoying their own self-contained accommodation and personal space.

A film and discussion event on this issue has just been added to events.
There is a 'Green on the Screen' event about Cohousing in general and this project in particular coming up on 2nd May @ 7pm at Moors Bar in Crouch End.
Jeremy Green and Ruth Schamroth (Architect) are two of the founder members of the North London Sustainable Housing Partnership and will lead the Cohousing discussion after the film.
This is a free event - a £3 donation is requested - all are welcome. We serve delicious, mainly local vegetarian food at modest prices (£3 starters and desserts, £5 main courses) for those who want to eat.
