Harringay online

Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I've just visited the new "Park View Café" at the Manor House entrance to Finsbury Park.

We had breakfast, and it was all very friendly, tasty, and good value for money.  It only opened last Friday.  We were told there would be some special dishes over the weekend.

What's also nice is that although you are next to an ultra-busy road junction, there is actually a very peaceful view into the park.

And while I'm about it, I'd like to put in a good word for the excellent but apparently underrated "Bianca" Italian restaurant on Grand Parade.

Thanks for the review, have been meaning to check this out since Friday, but have been too busy. I find it quite funny that this building used to be a public loo.

Do they do a decent espresso/cappuccino? Not that the area is now totally bereft of them after iBorboni opened, but it's really handy for the Tube so would be worth knowing about if so!

what about dogs?

Don't think they sell them. Or perhops they are awaiting new stock..

:)

Peter - Thank you for letting us know about the new cafe. I have been observing with interests the building work progressing, and noticed yesterday when I went past on the 341 that it had opened, and wondered what it was like. This is the second public convenience around here to be converted to a cafe. The one in Chestnuts Park has been open as a cafe for some time. An inventive use of old buildings, much to be congratulated.

The cafe in Chestnuts Park is not a converted public convenience. The convenience is adjacent to the cafe and is still open ( but for how long ? )

John D: The public convenience that is there is new, and was built to replace the old one, which was converted into the existing cafe.

Didn't know that was a toilet!

* shudders *

Lets not forget the one on the corner of St. Anns Road and Seven Sisters Road. A Chinese shop I seem to recall.

Here are a couple of hastily snapped phone pics:

its certainly  value for money and friendly helpful staff.  Nice tables.  i had a salt beef sandwich in there today.  Edible enough but used that cheap not very nice thin sliced  bread you get in greasy spoons.   i think they could increase their prices slightly and  use better quality.

Yes, I think it is a caff rather than a cafe :-/

New comment on this cafe here.
