There is an interesting and very sobering article in the Gaurdian- "Road casualty UK: 10 years of deaths mapped and visualised". http://pt2.itoworld.com/1/b/6/32/19.png
Looking at Green Lanes, from Manor House to Turnpike Lane it appears that there have been 11 road deaths in the last 10 years, 8 pedestrians, 2 vehicle occupants, 1 cyclist.
There are clustered sites, near Manor House junction 2, Retail park junction 3, Warham-St Annes junctions 2, Turnpike Lane junctions area 4. It also documents accidents where there have been serious and slight injuries however there are so many that they overlap and run into each other and cannot be counted, and of course there are other deaths and injuries on the other roads in our area.

Sorry the above link does not work I hope this one will http://gu.com/p/33e5k
You can't see that the one under the 70 year old man near St Ann's Rd was a toddler because of over lapping. I'd rather they showed the tonnage of the vehicle involved than the victim's ages, it totally smacks of blame the victim. Shame on you Grainuad or whatever it is you're called.
I find that when I magnify the map that is accessed via Maggie's link above, a huge number of accidents appear. These appear to cover the whole lengths of the Green Lanes and Wightman Road from Endymion to Turnpike Lane. These are mainly classified as injuries rather than deaths but it is still compelling evidence.
It's a free for all on that roundabout with pedestrians cyclists and drivers battling it out. a phased traffic light system will help reduce this issue. who's to say the injuries are not sustained when breaking heavily when trying to avoid a pedestrian crossing the road?
