Just seen the banner and my opinion is that its pretty damn crap.
Why?
You still see much of the shoddy paintwork on the bridge.
The banner is all wrinkled.
The overall design is so crap.
I could go on but I'll give everyone else chance instead.
Oh well.

Morning admins is there any possibility we could have poll (not pole) on the banner.
Something simple
Do you like the banner YES NO
Do you think the bridge should be used for advertising YES NO
It would be good way of seeing how people now feel about what has happened to the bridge
I'm happy for any suggestions regarding questions.
Would need to start by first asking people if they have noticed what adorns the bridge. I guess some people wont have noticed as they are rushing by, to and from McDonalds Homebase and Sainsburys, trying to avoid the crowds. That information is itself important to have.
Then could ask what they think about it, would have to be a sliding scale rather than simple yes or no.. but this is the social scientist in me re-emerging....
Then could ask what they would like to see on there ranging from nothing to other options, a tick box multiple choice answer
We did all that on HOL, but the Council took no notice.
That was such a very thorough survey and look what we ended up with. I have given up now. Shame we couldnt have had a nice gateway into/out of our community. Might have made people feel a bit more proud of where they live. Thanks to everyone for all their efforts and inputs.
I appreciate that a very good survey was done. and we got some very clear views. But now the banner and ads are in place it would be nice to know whether peoples thoughts had changed.
Yellow Flem has been joined by green Retch. Is th is some kind of sick joke. Admittedly some Retch spilled onto the bridge but what its the somuch Flem and retch on our Bannners? how many more bodily fluids need to be sprayed onto the well considered, consulted and creative mother of all welcomes and thanks for visitings banner before LBoH, the GLSG, GRA, TA take notice?
Surely the banner was there to cover up such violations. Instead it appears to attract Flem and Retch likes flies to S***?
Perhaps the words are just summing up some of the welcoming attractions one will accidentally slide on when having to constantly look up in fear of being obliterated by a ton falling masonry whist ambling up our Grand Parde?
Won't somebody please think of the children!
Come on Hugh don't give up lets do a survey.
Not a single person has been able to explain on here why our bridge has a banner carrying advertising and no other bridge in Haringey does. And I'm called cynical.
Over to you councillors....
Fat chance TW, they are avoiding this issue like the plague.
While the belief that naked piano legs should be decently dressed in becoming swathes of decorous material to avoid scandal or offence has been disputed as a non-urban myth of early Victorian or antebellum American provenance since Charles Dickens' time at least, surely it is all the more fitting that the decidedly unprepossessing masculine nakedness of an ugly Victorian railway bridge be sheathed in appropriate raiment from the sensitive gaze of our local Councillors of the female persuasion? I am sure our former Neighbourhood Manager, Dasos Maliotis, was merely doing his best with limited means in his last few months to spare the blushes, or lascivious longings, of those Councillors. Greek or Turkish goddesses were known to fall for stranger monsters than naked railway bridges back in pre-urban mythological times.
Perhaps some the £6.61 daily profit the banners bring to Green Lanes be used to wipe the bridge clean of its Retch and Flem? Or a we waiting for an accompaniment of Plop, Piddle, and Bogie before LBoH, GLSG, GRA and TA get the wet wipes out?
