Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Just watched a guy dump a huge amount of rubbish right outside his house on Seymour.

Asked him why - he said he is fed up waiting for his landlord to sort it out, so he has shifted it from the front garden onto the pavement so he can sit out (and admire the lovely view..). Broken mirrors, the lot.

3 of us tried to reason with him but he doesn't see it as his problem. Flipping unbelievable. Have reported it to Haringey, just wanted to rant.

Who is liable for that? I can't believe this guy will be able to pay any kind of fine.

Tell him that if it happens again he can report it to the Council street enforcement team and they will enforce clearance on his landlord. There's just no need for him to do what he did.

I use my Love Clean Streets app to report mattress strewn gardens and the like on my way to the station. Have you noticed how much less messy Wightman Rd gardens are on the whole these days? It does work.

and I hope that you answered yes to the bit about do you know anything about who did it. Enforcement may pay him a visit anyway. I have also seen SNT knock on the door of a serial dumper in my street and made them clear it up after they found an envelope on the pile of crap with the address on, so maybe drop them a line about it too?
I was there. I am so angry. Another illegal conversion, managed to sneak in a COL and is used by our council, as they don't put enough focus on the illegal conversions.
Here it is in all it's glory. I want him prosecuted.
I hope this link helps for you to get some action going against these folk http://www.haringey.gov.uk/index/environment_and_transport/refusean...
Thanks James. Have also emailed Brian Ellick & Nilgun Canver about this one, he's a council tenant.
Thanks James, I have emailed them, its amazing what people will do.
Since the Hornsey Churnalists and Haringey Independents just recycle stuff they find on HOL, why don't they pick this up and run with it?  A bit of real investigative practice might get them a job with the News of the World Sun On Sunday or wha'ever.

With similar incidents, I've found the key factor has been the willingness (or not) by witnesses to make a statement and perhaps go to Court. So it seems as though this is one dumper who has met his match.

Alan Stanton is right. I've witnessed his campaigns against fly tipping that have made a huge difference in the community that he represents
Alan, I am more than willing to make a statement. I have emailed Brian Ellick and Nilgun Canver about this, what else do I need to do? Any pointers very welcome.

Sounds like you've given them exactly what they need, Anette. But if Mr Ellick needs more detailed information, I'm sure he'll ask you.

We can all understand why many people are reluctant to risk a dispute with their neighbours. But one strength of successful residents' groups - on or offline - is the possibility of modelling standards of behaviour. 'This is how we do things round here. Please help us. Everyone benefits'

Which doesn't take away the need for some backup from the Council or even the Police when you get people who refuse to respond to reasonable requests.
