A Tottenham group that helps kids and the environment in some of Haringey's least privileged areas, is asking for your help in their bid to win some funding from the Jubilee People’s Millions competition.
Local group, Living Under One Sun, are one of six London finalists with their Blooming Beds & Bees project. They will be going head to head on ITV London Tonight for a chance to win up to £60,000 to improve their local community.
The Jubilee People’s Millions competition, run by ITV and the Big Lottery Fund, gives the public a chance to vote on where lottery money should be spent.
Based in Northumberland Park and Tottenham Hale, Blooming Beds & Bees aims to run a programme of education and outreach in the local community focusing on learning about the environment and growing edible plants that also support much needed bee colonies. Workshops will connect local schools, communities and faith groups within the 4km foraging distance from the bee-hive at Living Under One Sun’s community allotment. They aim to celebrate the honey harvest in the summer with an outdoor, family-focused event designed to inspire & raise awareness of bees.

The vote for choosing the London 'People's Millions' winner is airing on June 28th at 6pm (though please check the time!). You can vote by phone at any time on the day between 9am and midnight. The number will be made available on June 28th here.
Living Under one Sun is a community project based in Tottenham started by local mothers to bring people together to meet and share ideas to improve their area. The group converted a derelict site in Tottenham Hale into an award winning community allotment.
