Parking permits
Is anyone else having problems with the Taranto parking permit system? I keep getting locked out when i'm trying to book visitors' permits, & having to change my password: which is then only recognised on my laptop & not on my phone. I need to use the system every day, to book parking for my carer, and it's stressful when the parking attendant is already on the street.

Hi Ruth
Just read your post about parking permits. If you have a carer you are entitled to a carer's permit which is supplied by the council. You can find out how to apply by looking up 'carer's permit' on the council website. You need to provide evidence but it is really quite straightforward and a very welcome concession for people. Its free too. When you are approved - which is a surprisingly quick process - they send you the laminated permit which your carer can place in his/her car.
Regarding virtual permits, have you got your own council account- My Haringey. That seems to work.
Let me know, as I have had to contact parking directly on another issue regarding my disabled sister and they were incredibly helpful.
Best wishes,
Zena

Is it really beyond the wit of local authorities to develop a phone app for visitor parking - both to purchase and activate? They seem everywhere for car parks and pay to park bays but not visitor and resident permits.

In relation to the Taranto parking permit system, did some of you receive this message back in September? (See below) I'm suspicious of many things I get on email now.
If this is genuine, any ideas why are they making us go through this?
Last time I had to change something to do with my Taranto a/c I lost the parking vouchers I had bought.
I'm interested to read your thoughts/experiences.
Dear Sir / Madam,
Please note your Resident Qualification (xxxxx) will expire on 30/10/2026. When this qualification expires, you will no longer be able to buy resident visitor voucher permits.
Your Resident Qualification can be renewed online at: https://haringey.tarantopermits.com. You will need to prove eligibility for the qualification.

I got the same thing sometime in the summer. I completed the eligibility thing and was able to buy permits again.

Zena, thank you. I'd been told I couldn't get a carer's permit because I'd hired my carer privately. I'll apply straight away!
