Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!
New River fish
Saw half a dozen of these today. They are the largest fish I have seen in the New River. I believe they are European Chub

Wow! Whereabouts? Quite a lot of fry growing larger under the bridge in Finsbury Park . Used to be some big carp down by the climbing centre but I’ve not seen them for some time.

I am an angler and I am very interested, doesn’t mean I intend to catch them! Majority of anglers are always concerned / interested in the state of our waters and the life therein. The New river in its early days held the record for a rod caught brown trout. Those days are long gone and I wouldn’t advocate a return of angling on the New River but I always look with the benefit of Polaroid glasses to see what is in there . I used to see a jack pike just inside the park and by the tunnel but recent years less and less fish. A few crayfish - usually dead. The more we watch, enjoy and share,the better chance of monitoring and improving the water.
