Has anyone had a printed calendar delivered of which days Veolia are taking rubbish and recycling? We got sent a general guide but no specifics, and the 'downloadable calendar' on Haringey website is last year's.

Good point, sounds like an innovation, or how you would expect
Not here either. There's a 'find your day' button of course, but here's a list I recently knocked up for Wednesday Week A [Umfreville and others] which I've stuck onto last year's printed bin calendar to save me checking online every week:

Thanks Gordon - it seems to me that in not issuing the usual printed timetable (presumably to cut costs), they are just making more work and confusion for everyone, which hardly encourages responsible recycling.
Even if they were saving money by not distributing printed copies a simple tweak on their website that generates a printable PDF of the collection schedule doesn’t seem an unreasonable ask!
I tried to follow this up back a the beginning of the month. Here's my correspondence. The first was to our two active ward councillors Anna Abela and Zena Brabazon, The secods was from Haringey's Head of Waste, Beth Waltzer.

Dear Anna And Zena,
A happy belated Easter.
As usual the Council has failed to produce its kerbside collection calendar in time for the new cycle.
I called Veolia, thinking that it is maybe their responsibility because they carry it on their website, but they say it’s the Council who produces it and they’ve already called the council to remind them. Apparently they’ve had a lot of calls similar to mine this morning.
Could you please let us know why it’s never ready on time and also when the new one will be ready this year. From what Veolia are saying it sounds like sometime in May. Can that really be the case?

Dear Hugh
Cllr Brabazon has passed your email to me for my attention.
So, this year we have two communication drops about our waste and recycling services, one should be within your Council tax and the second one (the collection schedules you refer to below) will be delivered shortly. There is a slight delay on this as we now have new spending controls in place limiting paper-based assets being produced for financial reasons, and we needed to secure some external funding to produce them. Unfortunately, this took longer than anticipated.
You should receive it within the next month but please let me know directly if you do not receive one.
Thanks
Beth

Of course, the silly thing is that for most of us, it doesn't need to cost any more than putting it on the website.
AND I"M DELIGHTED to report that downloadable PDF versions for 26/27 are now available on the Haringey Veolia website at https://www.haringey.veolia.co.uk/facilities-services/collection-da...
I understand your issue with a printer, Maddy. I'm sure many are in the same boat as you. However, I'd be happy to opt-out of any mail-drop and just go with the printable pdf, particularly if it were to help the council produce the thing on time very year! (I've suggested opt-in/out as an option to Beth Waltzer).
“Paper-based assets”?! Who thinks up this rubbish? (Excuse the pun.) Must be the equivalent of “bread-based offerings”, aka sandwiches…..
