What are possible safety issues with older model buses?

Apart from causing the polar ice-caps to melt, they can also raise the blood pressure of the 'permanently concerned' to dangerous levels.

Thanks for replying rapidly, Jamie Harper.
So, no safety improvements whatever have been introduced since the older model buses were designed and built. I'm very grateful to have your current professional knowledge.
I'm an older model human - but make no claim to 'vintage' status.

Another possible scenario is that the buses might cause excessive enjoyment levels among people Alan.

Another generous person! Many thanks!
How nice to have so many bus experts with knowledge of the vintage buses used and with time for an enjoyably witty dismissal of my totally unnecessary safety query.
Silly me.

Just to make it clear that I'm not simply a bus killjoy. I cherish the memory of a bus named 'Olive' (after its splendid colour) and essential for getting us round the town of Southwold.
