Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

In a US context, I've heard of dumpster fires, but this morning a neighbour told me of a fire begun in a nearby skip that I had missed.

He said there had been 10 such fires reported in Haringey or London. He said they happen in the wee small hours and may be started by someone wearing a balaclava.

Has anyone else heard of this?

IMAGES from another neighbour.

The arsonist targeted another skip associated with home renovation.

THIS evening I learnt from another neighbour that, since the summer there have four skip fire plus a bin fire in Ossian Road (off Ferme Park Road). Sounds as though a local may be responsible.

Perhaps it’s a disgruntled ex-builder who has a thing about loft conversions?

HOPE the arsonist is caught. Flaming material might move and ignite something nearby. Anyone doing renovations might consider training a security camera on their skip.

I was impressed as to how an arsonist was identified and arrested in the massively destructive Los Angeles (Pacific Palisades) fire in January.

Last weekend a Land Rover was set alight on one of the roads behind the big Sainsbury's in the early hours. I'm unsure if it's being treated as an official arson case, but presumably it didn't combust spontaneously.

I live nearby and slept through all the commotion.

Maybe torched for the insurance?

I walked past that LR a couple of days before it inexplicably suffered 'spontaneous combustion' (Wednesday or Thursday I think). It was parked at an odd angle and there were a few noticeable bumps & dents on it (and a parking ticket). For all the world it looked like it had been dumped.

Presumably someone or a group that doesn't like the gentrification of our area.
