How shocking that The London Fire Brigade should worry about and worse still take action about the possibility of paper books being flammable in underground tunnels. What knowledge could the London Fire Brigade or Transport for London possibly have in such matters?!
Well, obviously, everyone's commonsense opinions should take priority over these fussy rule bound ignorant bureaucrats. And Bravo! to everyone who has taken the trouble to write to one another on a local website or two. Please keep doing this.
Under no circumstances should anyone look for alternative ways to dispose of their unwanted books!!!For example any notion that a local charity shop might want them is plainly absurd. Similarly don't bother offering them for free on a local website.
