Police activity, several vans and a cordon, across Portland Gardens earlier this morning. A small crowd of people gathered. Anyone have any information on what's going on?
Seems to be ending now, 9am.

Gordon,
The Met has many flaws, but it's a bit much to suggest they're terrorists.
Who is saying that the police are terrorists?
This was a tongue in cheek response to an inflammatory post that was subsequently deleted. For some reason it now looks as though it is a reply to your post.
Thanks for clearing that up. People who post in controversial discussions, wait for people to react and then delete their postings are a pain.
I'm less concerned about a noisy helicopter than I am the possibility that we have terrorists and/or terrorist sympathisers in our midst. I'm glad the police are there to keep us safe but I shudder to think how much it costs to do so.
Their supporters are still blocking Stanhope Gardens.
There are some people there all night I think, I've seen them the past few night in sleeping bags in the make-shift gazebo. Others standing facing the police cordon keeping watch. Some sort of vigil for the community centre?
And there's music again, not as loud as Weds night.
Personally I think the amount of money and resources spent managing this was well over the top, seeing as they have no money. Why was there any need for helicopters to hover over for 5hours. Meanwhile another car window was smashed on our laddder road 3 streets down, and no police available . Rubbish
