Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

COVID jabs at Bounds Green Health Centre - no access from Bounds Green Rd - cameras+fine

The Centre is on Gordon Road just north of the Tube station, and we've used it for a couple of years for COVID jabs, we can't be the only such people in Harringay.

Vehicles turning into Gordon Road from Bounds Green Rd - the obvious route if coming from Harringay - will incur a penalty (unless they have a local permit). The penalty-free route is to turn left onto Durnsford Rd and take the first right turn. AND go out that same way - I think the junction with Bounds Green Rd incurs a penalty on entrance AND exit. It's not a school street, this one is 24/7.

Yes I have a friend who lives in there and has to navigate her way in and out with a large towing caravan!

Is there really a need to drive anywhere to get your jab? My local pharmac is a 7 minute walk from my home.

When you are contacted by NHS/local GP etc you are directed to a site that gives you the option of Lordship Lane or Gordon Road - but there is no warning about the LTN that Gordon Road is located in.  My elderly neighbour, at 79, received a ticket for going in and 30 minutes later a second ticket for goinng out!  After protests Haringey cancelled one of the two...

Yes that's the booking system we use too, Paul. Last year we used the Tube to get there so I didn't register any signs though they would have been there. Previous years we used Lordship Lane. This year it was an 0830 Sunday booking...

There are signs on Bounds Green Rd that are rather small, and the 'barrier' at Gordon Rd is very close to the junction.

Get the bus, I did, no stress 😬

I went last Friday, only just made it before they shut the doors at 5pm. If I had got the bus, after finishing work, there is no way I would have got there in time.

I would much prefer a walk to a Green Lane pharmacy but I wasn't offered that option.

Yes, the system is a bit weird. If you go off-piste and just enter without using the link you’re sent you seem to get a wider choice of options.

Thanks Hugh, I'll try to remember that if I get offered it next year.

I was able to change my booking to the pharmacist, just down from the Salisbury.

My wife and I now ignore the NHS invitations and arrange directly with the Pharmacy, the choice between Lordship and Gordon Road seems to be a hangover from when chemists didn't provide the service.  Your NHS record is updated, just the same...
