As someone who voted in this election this is my take. The sole contact from any of the candidates was a solitary leaflet thorough the letterbox and maybe a door knock. That was it.
There was no community engagement or discussion forums I heard of.
I'd like to see more of what I witnessed when living in the US - a public 'town hall' forum where the candidates explain to the electorate what they will do for them and the borough, and a single, independent pamphlet summarising the candidates policies and priorities.

How rude
I find some the comments here both amusing and ironic. The big campaign to save the beautiful trees of Haringey opposed by the leaders of Haringey Council to great cost. Yet you still vote in more Labour councillors. Makes no sense
I don't wish to make light of the experiences of men, children and particularly women enduring abusive relationships but it is an apt and accurate analogy.
