You have zero evidence of the majority public opinion of Haringey’s 270k residents. the nos signing petitions is nowhere near a majority.
Thanks for your input Elizabeth but I didn't mention petitions but was referring to the Council's own consultation processes on this and other issues.
Which again were completed by a tiny minority of the population and as with all consultations if you agree with the proposals or are neutral you are unlikely to fill them in.
If you filter down onto Streets for People under My Maps you can see the traffic counts, air quality results, etc here https://my.haringey.gov.uk/Haringey.aspx
It's not got the latest quarter on there but hopefully it should be coming soon.
Thanks - clicked on it all... found the data but as you say it's all pre-implementation.
If you select something (such as the Vivacity cameras that are doing constant counts) you will then see the little boxes showing location. Click on one of these and it will show the data available, then click on one of the underlined links to download the data
So you can look at the daily average per week for the traffic on West Green Rd pre/post the St Ann's LTN for instance

These things take time to work through to permanent change whilst people find new routes and change habits - that’s why the trials are long term.
Elizabeth: This sounds very like the famed “evaporation” we’ve bee told happens when LTNs are introduced — ie the vehicles just go somewhere else, making it another borough’s problem. Not sure the residents of Bounds Green were too happy to receive the “evaporated” traffic when Enfield created their LTN just the other side of the borough boundary. Until and unless there are reliable, cheap and viable public transport alternatives to car travel that make it more attractive not to drive, the problem will not be solved. Locally, if Haringey is determined to push more traffic onto already unsafe and congested roads such as West Green and Green Lanes, they need to tackle the problems there. So far, they haven’t and show no signs of doing so. Stick without carrot is not an answer.
There is already cheap, reliable public transport - I know because I use it to travel in, around and through Haringey. We have the best public transport in the whole country by miles. Other LTNs have shown reductions in overall traffic nos and improved lives for many. It’s in the gift of the car drivers to improve Green Lanes for eg by using the bus or tube instead of their BMWs to go to the restaurants to free up the roads for the others who have no other choice but to drive. Most Haringey residents don’t even have access to a car. They shouldn’t all have to live with the traffic.
