Maybe whoever recruited the people doing the counting believed that thing about passing Key Skills Application of Number meaning that you can do maths.
Left the recount a while ago and it is going as it did the first time round. Result expected soon.
Labour turned up mob handed to watch the recount, despite an agreement to only have equal numbers to everyone else. Labour outnumbered LibDem observers 3 to 1. Anyway, despite the scowls from Claire Kober and smiles from the LibDem observers the counters continue to do their job.
So vote count shows Nora only missed by 14 votes. No wonder they had to do a recount!!
Think this shows same pattern as 2006, with Alexander coming first as before and Adamou coming second. Schmitz has replaced the other LD, Baker. So still a marginal ward!!
Much higher voter turn out which is very good, helped of course by it being a General election vote as well. The 2006 results for first three councillors were;
Gutted for Nora. Nothing to do with her party. Whichever platform she was standing on, she would have been a real asset if her contribution to HOL, assistance in fighting HMOs etc. and enthusiasm for her ward are anything to go by. I hope she'll stay on as Lammy's assistant so we can continue to rely on her help and contacts in our various campaigns.
I really hope that all the younger candidates in this ward stay and work with us, they all seemed to be the kind of folks we could do with. Four years isn't so long to wait...
