Question - How many people use Food Waste Collection Service
Notice most of the people around me Do Not
Aware when first started their was Rodent issues
Not Helped by living opposite the Church that has a growing number of Foxes
Who seem to work together and manage to knock over waste bins in the hunt for food

Yes, ours (shared with another flat) is very heavily used and I think we'll need a second soon. As others have said, it locks so no issue with rodents unless they develop opposable thumbs.

All the time. One fox incident before I realised that the bins can be locked. No problems since. I assumed that everybody uses one now. Why would you not?

I live on an estate so have no collection service.
I do use the food waste bins on the estate, though most have been taken away and the rest are usually contaminated. And since the second time the libraries were shut it's been impossible to access the "free" caddy liners we pay for in our council tax. I've had to buy them from the supermarket but at a time when many people are struggling financially it's a bit insulting to be expected to buy something we have already paid for. I'm sure many of my neighbours have given up.

I use my food collection bin to collect food waste before I venture to the bottom of the garden to add it to the compost. Foxes in my garden have worked out that if you swing and kick the bin around the garden in the middle of the night you can get it open and strew its contents all over the place.
It seems to happen more when there are bones in the bin, so now I put them straight in my hot compost.

I always put waste food and other compostable items in the appropriate bin, situated near the front gate, as are the wheelie bins. Always make sure the lid is "locked" closed. Never had a problem with foxes, rats etc. The big problem is that Veolia only empty the bin when they feel like it, maybe once every six weeks, and usually only do so if I email them to complain.

Ignoring the poor spelling, it's clear rat they expect cooked food to be put in the food waste bins.

I have one - although I think there are literally two of us on my street that do (Tottenham Hale). I think maybe a lot of people don't know that you can get them quite easily/for free? I've noticed that they either seem to be something people in different areas do or don't do en masse. I've a friend in the gardens near Green Lanes and there seem to be loads there.
I've not encountered the problems you describe - mine seems to lock well, although we have a fairly sheltered place it can be stored in our front garden.
Actually, it helped us with rat problems - when the first lockdown began we noticed lots of these pests in our garden (despite having a dog and a cat who really should be earning their keep!). So we've stopped using our garden composter for everything but garden waste - fruit and veg scraps are going in the food waste caddy. This seems to have helped...

We have a "garden" compost and also use our food waste bin regularly -- Veolia picks it up regularly every two weeks. We have noticed that sometimes the food waste bin gets opened (despite the handle being down) and contents strewn around; now we put the food waste bin on top of the regular one and have not had problems since then.
We add to the garden compost only uncooked vegetable scraps -- but not banana and lemon peels, which are too thick to decompose/ too acidic. We have regular visitors such as foxes but they don't touch the garden compost.
