Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Morning,

I just wondered if anyone knew why most of the big bins are facing inwards so you can't use them?

Apologies if this has already been mentioned.

Thanks,

Ange

The recycling centre at Sainsburys has stopped operating.  Whether permanent or just a swap to another recycler, Customer Assistance staff didn't know.

My guess would be that it's permanent, due to the loss of car parking space for the new collection point under construction on the far end of the car park.

Hi Gordon,

Thanks for the update.

I thought the new build was about creating an Argos?

Thanks again,

A

Re Argos, yes I didn't make it clear - inside Sainsburys there are currently two work areas (former cafe, former meat/fish counter) that are barred off and have "Argos coming soon" vinyls. And outside in the car park there is considerable construction work as is visible. I can't link the three sites together, perhaps the placards are just general 'we're doing things'...  How all these separate works will fit together I can't work out!

Meanwhile the recycling centre at Western Road back of Wood Green defaults to the only Haringey  'overflow' recycling location for mixed dry domestic recycling since they do have big 'mixed domestic' recycling bins accepting the same mix as our green-top recycling bins. A bridge too far for those without cars alas..

The introduction of Argos at the large new Sainsburys in Northumberland Park N17, resulted in them reducing the number of lines they stocked and so the offer, and the supermarket, became somewhat less interesting for some (me).

Why they needed an Argos here when we have one close by on foot, in Tottenham Hale, beats me!

So I now shop there less often....
