Grit Bins for the Ladder
I was perusing the Haringey website of late, and happened to download a list of grit bin locations in the borough. I may be mistaken, but it would appear that there are none in the Ladder, which, given the gradient of the some of the hills struck me a trifle odd.
Anyway, I've phoned Haringey to propose Burgoyne Road as a new bin location and emailed our elected representatives suggesting that now might be a good time to resolve this - before the next snowfall arrives. I just thought I'd mention it in case others would like to join me in a rather laid-back campaign: Grit Bins for the Ladder!

It was interesting the way Cllr Haley went into battle for grit bins in the meeting on Tuesday.
Indeed his enthusiasm for the subject was such that he could barely contain himself on the topic and became quite heated in his exchange with cllr Canver who was taking the questions, hardly able to contain his outrage at how badly done to we were in Harringay.
Of course, if I read this discussion right, John Bevan has only just taken this over from a departing cabinet member who gave up the job a few weeks ago...remind me again of the name of the person who had responsibilty for this before the snow fell?

That was Cllr Haley. Seems very disingenuous of him to be creating a scene at the local assembly since it was all his responsibility a few days prior to the snow. It's shenanigans like this that give politicians a bad name. Certainly makes me very very wary of trusting him. I'd expect more from the Lib Dems.

Hi John,
I am indeed, and now the announcement has been made I can also confirm that I'm running as one of the three Lib Dem Council Candidates for Harringay Ward alongside Cllr Karen Alexander and David Schmitz.
We've actually just received messages from Hugh about how we adjust our HoL profiles to ensure our positions are obvious. Something which I'm going to try and deal with now. Sorry if I've caused any confusion here!!
