Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hi, I really recommend that you always ask for a receipt when you buy, as there are many that don't automatically provide receipts, and check them. We stopped shopping at a shop up the road that kept on making up prices for vegetables and fruit ("oh, they must have changed the price today" only works so many times). We were mischarged for walnuts last week and returned to the biggish supermarket on Turnpike Lane to point out the mistake and get reimbursed. Ok, mistakes might happen. Just seen on the receipt from todays shop that they have marked "2 grapefruit for £1" and get charged 59p each! I am not sure whether to boycott all these shops or just be so vigilant that it makes shopping unpleasant. Have looked at Harringay Council at where one can complain but nothing jumps out.

It would be trading standards you'd need to complain to. See info here

Thanks!

Good luck in getting charged the marked prices. Shops on Green Lanes charging what they think they can get away with has been going on for decades.

Might not be near you but I find Rainbow on the corner of Fairfax/Green Lanes to be good.

I bought some 2nd class stamps from one shop on the Grand Parade, rather then queue for ages in the PO. I thought it sounded a bit steep but paid as I was in a hurry. Checked once home and had been overcharged £3. Not going there again.
