The Rolling Stones’ All Night Rave at Alexandra Palace – June 1964

The Rolling Stones’ All Night Rave took place at Ally Pally on 26th June 1964. Organised by The Rolling Stones’ fan club, the show coincided with the release date of the band’s hit It’s All Over Now. 

Also on the bill that night were: John Lee Hooker, John Mayall, Alexis Korner, Millie & Five Members, and Jimmy Powell and the Five Dimensions.

Yes and although their hair might look short to more recent generations, in those days it was considered shockingly long and their onstage antics caused outrage to the older generations.

They were outrageous.  Difficult to believe that when you look at these photos.

Brian Jones in a jacket, shirt and tie. Certainly outrageous!

Is that top photo wrongly entitled then?

Hard to tell. But the same principle applies.

It came to me as Keith Richards. I wouldn’t know if that was right or wrong.

Bill played bass, four strings. So not Bill. Nice to see whoever it is playing that venue through a Vox AC30 amp. (Proud owner).
