Well done Seema! Such a bad decision to stop them back in 2017

is that free pickup?

Oh no. I think not. I misunderstood. It looks like the announcement is a lockdown easing one with just a dash of good news (the 20% reduction).

So will be £20 for up to four items or thereabouts. Get together with your neighbours? I dont often have four sofas to get shot of.

You have to have a front yard to keep the stuff in meanwhile, they won't collect from the pavement.

Thanks for this.

Do we know if the tip has any plans to re-open? It did mention this on the BBC this morning....

Yes, this is good to see, though even £20 will put many people off having items collected.

This news prompted me to go to the Council's web page on bulky waste collections. There is a note about waste electrical (WEEE) goods, with a link to the website of Clearabee - which says:-

'If you're a resident in one of the 7 [NLWA] boroughs [including Haringey] we'll be able to remove your bulky and difficult to handle waste electrical items. All you need to do is contact us, we'll give you a date, leave it outside and leave the rest to us. Book a collection online or call us on 0330 088 1085'

This applies only to big items such as fridges, freezers, presumably big TVs; and smaller electrical things if they are heavy (sewing machines are mentioned).

If more people knew about this FREE service there might be fewer abandoned fridges etc dumped on pavements.

Biggest Joke is Commercial unites that get dumped, often meters from premises

Never seen action taken for them being dumped. Not on Councils Caught and Fined Facebook pages
