Liz and I attended the National eWell-Being Awards at the Royal Society of Arts on Wednesday and we're delighted to be able to report back that li'l ole Harringay Online received its second national award, winning a highly commended accolade in the Building Community Networks category.
I'm really happy to get Harringay on the map again and it's great to know that we now have the most decorated neighbourhood site in the country.
Well done that man (and woman) - an outstanding success..!
..it shouldn't be underestimated either, how successful HOL has been, in putting Harringay onto the world map (apart from google, that is) as well.. °ö°
It has become an important dropping off place for those of us who no longer live between Turnpike Lane and Endymion Road, but like to keep in touch with what's going on in N4, N8 & N15. An area which played an important part in many of our lives and I imagine, has made us what we are today.
I personally have been able to build up contacts with people with similar interests to me, with whom it would never have been possible to reach.. and thinking back to the early days of HOL in July 2007, it's amazing what has been achieved..
Has HoL had coverage in the council's Haringey People magazine, I wonder?
Recognition in that Journal would represent a useful news item. It might act as an inspiration to others and demonstrate that not all that is good for the community comes out of the local authority.
