Sam R - Thank you for posting these pictures of the demolition at various stages. I had noticed in the last few days that the demolition was continuing. Yesterday they seemed to be beginning to clear up all the waste material. I agree with Hugh that it is sad to see a building with some character being torn down. However, as there was a lot of wasted space on the site - far too much car-parking space - and the building was unlikely to find a new user, in the end it should be a benefit. It remains to be seen whether there will be any genuinely affordable housing, and also whether the architecture will be worthwhile or just the usual bland stuff. Hope that the new development will be a benefit to the local community and will not make the traffic on Green Lanes even worse.

What is it that has been demolished?
