Vote for anyone, even the Tories : ) this could be the first realistic chance the BNP may get a MEP which would be terrible for the UK.

I agree B2, while I feel the same as most about the MPs expenses debacle, I'm worried that people may refuse to vote as a protest against the scandal and then the real winners in will be the BNP who will benefit from a low turnout.
I notice on the list of prospective candidates that there is a certain Michael Barnbrook. Could he be related to this charming BNP member of the London Assembly?

You should have had it, we have ours. I think you can still turn up to vote without it. I'm sure I did last time when my card went 'astray'

In case (like me) you'd forgotten what happened last time, there are 9 MEPs up for election for the whole of London, selected via proportional representation. In 2004, Labour and Tories got 3 seats each (25 and 27% of vote respectively). Lib Dems got 1 seat with 15%, UKip 1 with 12% and Greens 1 with 8%. Respect got 5% (no seats) and the BNP 4% (no seats). The relatively small gap between the % of the vote for the Greens and BNP (given that the Greens got 1 seat) certainly makes me worry about any increase in the BNP vote.
The parties put foward candidates in a ranked order - if Labour win 3 seats, the first 3 of their candidates go through. Which I'm afraid makes it unlikely Nilgun will make it (as she is 7th on the Labour list).

I'm afraid the way that MPs have been shown up this week will only push people to the fringe parties, which is good in one sense unless that is the BNP, who incidentally had a election broadcast on the BBC last night, they sound so conventional nowadays but for a true representation try this:

I did the profiler - quite honestly - I am stunned to find it places the Tories above Labour on my list of opinion matches. My matches go Green 77%, LD 74%, Con 62%, Lab61%, BNP 47%, UKIP 39%. Does this mean I am doing the dreaded turning right as I get older, or that the Labour Party have gone off in some other direction from the rest of the planet? I could never vote Tory in the proverbial million years, but sentimental attachment to the Labour party will not necessarily move that shaky hand making its cross on the form in their direction for much longer.
I'd better do the quiz again....
