Harringay online

Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

While travelling past on the bus the past couple of nights I noticed that Indika had been cleared of all furniture and the counter removed. Are they redecorating or have they closed down?

I hope it hasn't closed for good! We love their curries. The website is up and running still, with the ability to order takeaway, so hopefully it's just a refurb.

We went there on Sunday 4 March. Took our grandchildren - and their parents of course. The youngest doesn't yet talk. But she smiles and laughs a lot and judging by her enthusiastic eating she would have given it a good review.
The counter at the front has indeed gone.
They have a special deal on Sundays. Excellent value. There was a steady stream of takeaways going out.

They told us that, like a lot of businesses, the snow badly hit their trade. Hopefully this will recover. Though it was a change to find a restaurant which wasn't packed and where we could hear one another.

I was in last week and it was just a refurb - they're still open in the interim though

I got a delivery from them last night.

Very much open and as welcoming as always.

They are having a refurb. The counter was getting in the way of them being seen to be a restaurant. Was in there on Sat and it was the busiest I've seen it, so seems to be working.

Glad to hear it. Nice people. And very helpful.

Big up, Indika

I like Indika very much. I usually order online for delivery. Their web site is, if anything, too comprehensive, but they respond instantly and the food comes quickly. Good, friendly, reliable and tasty. What more could one ask?

To be honest I find all the curries taste similar and pretty sure they use one standard sauce and add a few spices at the end to make them different. I have known those guys many years and I wish them well, but for me, there are much better around even though I live 1minute away.

After all this talk about Indika, I was inspired to try a delivery takeaway last night after a stressful day, especially as they have 20% discount and no delivery charge if you spend over £30.  Verdict: delivery fine, food - ehh, which I should have guessed from the menu.  I've eaten far worse Indian takeaways but this was not good enough that I would ever consider repeating the experience or going to the restaurant to eat.  I guess if bog standard Indian curry house fare floats your boat then it's fine but not for me.
