Hi all, have recently moved to a new flat with Velux windows, and during this weekend's downpour we have sprung leaks in a couple of them. Can anyone recommend a local tradesman with experience in Velux windows? Thanks!
Hi Ravi. My name's Steve Roberts and I'm a local window cleaner. Hate to state the obvious but have you made sure they're completely closed, Some models open/close Two different ways. ....either like a door or a complete 360 degree turn. I do apologise if you've tried these manouvers but I've seen a lot of Velux windows and they've all been superbly fitted and I've never seen any that leak. As I said I'm a window cleaner/handyman and I'd be happy to come and have a look . My number is 07946-587. Have you tried phoning Velux .... I'm sure they will have a list of approved fitters in the area. Cheers Steve Roberts your friendly neighborhood window cleaner
Thanks for completing my number Gordon, much appreciated.
Thanks Steve (and Gordon!). We did make sure they were totally closed (opened and closed them again firmly, Velux equivalent of switching it off and back on again) but we still had water on the floor the last time it rained. We'll keep an eye on it, in case the leak is coming from somewhere else - but all surrounding walls seem dry to the touch.
Let's see how we go next time it rains heavily, which let's face it, won't be far away!
