Washing machine broken - any suggestions for service?

It would seem that Bosch have some sort of anti-break in door, can't get the string in at all!

Our (non-Bosch) machine has a timer that delays being able to open it till 3 minutes after the wash cycle has finished,

OR until 3 mins after we have switched off the electricity supply to the machine if there's a mid-cycle problem. HTH.

Yeah, it's not the lock, as it unlocked. 

I think I broke the handle

He used a metal knife, but if you have something similar-shaped but made of strong flexible plastic that might be an alternative.  Perhaps a non-stick cake slice or palette knife. Not the plastic catering knives though, they'll break.

Hornsey Appliances on Wightman road. Call out rate is something like £35 and they were quick and efficient and friendly.
