Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

We have a spider that has been living in our bathroom for months. I have decorators coming on Monday. I could move the spider to the spare room but am worried it will go back home before the decorators have finished. Will it survive if I put it in a box for a few days?

You get the kindest question of the month award.

(According to the Guardian) Yes.

You're a better man than I am.

It will most probably survive, unless it's already been living on nothing for months. Ref: https://www.quora.com/How-long-can-a-home-spider-live-without-food

The question is, what has it been eating while in your bathroom? Or does it make secret trips out to do some shopping!

Slugs in your bathroom eat the mould too if that helps.

Spiders seem to be like marmite.

This spider guards our gate;

I had one in my bathroom for a few weeks over summer. Every time it got in the bath I would catch it and put it outside, but somehow it kept finding its way back in.
I don’t think you are supposed to put them outside. I won’t do that again
Why? They come from outside!
Here’s some pics of my bathroom big boy mate called Simply Spider. He enjoys a cuddle most mornings. He comes and goes and alaways appears ok when I’ve had to move him when understandably freaked out friends have come to stay. I’ve never held him captive in a box though as not sure if that would ruin our mutually trustful relationship

I moved her to the under stairs cupboard. I hope she is ok
