"Also only 45 new resident and 3 visitors parking places are planned" - I'm surprised it's that many, I thought council policy was moving towards only providing disabled and car club spaces for new developments?
The population on the top and bottom thirds of the ladder went up by 33% between the 2001 and 2011 censuses. Woodberry Down is increasing from 2400 households to 5200 (and seems to have a LOT more commuters trying to get onto the Piccadilly Line at Manor House already). Solution?
Agree
More people on bikes
But a little less lycra..
Cycling for everyone that can!
A sensible route for Crossrail 2 would be through Crouch End to Muswell Hill. That might help.
Perhaps now is the time to resurrect the idea of a light railway/tram on the Parkland Walk? It's what the space was originally intended for (Northern Line, admittedly) and it's not as if there is insufficient green space in the area. The bats would have to be re-housed from the Highgate tunnel if the line were to extend there and the OPs home at Cranley Gardens moved. Same with the school at Muswell Hill if the line were to go all the way to the Palace as originally planned. Time for some joined-up thinking methinks.
I suspect that much of the line is bordered by sufficient unused land to have both a tram line and a parkland walk.
There would be certainly enough space for both if the use was single track with the occasional cross-over to allow trams to pass....
