I found something similar in Seymour once with piles that included private paperwork too. Thinking about it, I concluded that this was just as likely to be a landlord clearing a room and dumping stuff on the street, perhaps after a hasty eviction. Incidentally, yesterday in Hackney I witnessed a young man get out of a very nice Audi with a box, nonchalantly place it by a litter bin and drive off. Curiously, it just had three small bags of rubbish in which he could have put IN the bin along with the box. Why he couldn't drive that box home and bin it, will be a mystery forever. There's probably a PhD to be had in mapping the seemingly endless ways, odd behaviour and motivations that people exhibit when fly tipping.

Seconded Liz, I reckon it's a landlord having a clearout. Time for a community shredder.

I can top that - yesterday I saw a woman in a posh Mercedes pull up - change her baby's nappy on the pavement and then leave it there.  As the car and nappy were still there when I walked past again 5 minutes later I deposited back on the roof of her car.

Shoved up her exhaust pipe would have been more your style I think.

Perhaps you should shove your petty little poke up your own exhaust pipe
Can you please make sure the person's name and address is edited out.

My first reaction too - blurred

Why dont you report it via the haringey app. Everyone should be using this as much as possible, its really easy to use.

I few months ago encountered an official from Veolia emptying out the bin on my road by the pillar box by the passageway and putting the contents of the bin by the bin when I asked what he was doing he said that the bin wasn't for household waste and then he just left the contents of the bin by the bin.

Talk about sh*t stirrers!

Think there just may be a few differences.

I reported a similar episode recently.  Boxes of rubbish, looked like room clearout.  Bank statements on top, so I brought them home to shred.  I did report the address to Veolia as there is no other explanation than that this was a change of tenant at the next door HMO.

No-one replied to me and I doubt anything happened.

As we all trip over this and pay for this I'd like reassurance from Veolia that they do act against flytippers when they get evidence.  Seems they do sometimes get lucky with a van number plate and then we hear all about it, but there is rubbish dumped every day on one favourite corner here that must be coming from HMOs.  This will of course escalate now there's no free mattress etc collections.

Veolia don't but the council's enforcement team do.

Unfortunately people rarely leave their name and address on dumped mattresses though.
