It's there, waiting for me to press the download button. But I'm in a quandary. I detest 8.1, currently on my laptop, but have read stuff about 10 that makes me wary.
Has anyone taken the plunge yet and what do you think?

Won't be taking the plunge; for lots of things the operating system isn't so significant anyway. Bought a now two year old PC with Windows 8. A year ago the hard drive expired. Marek worked his usual magic, replaced the hard drive, and installed Windows 7, saying 'you'll be much happier with this'. He was right.
Whatever happened Windows 9? Did they superstitiously skip it, like No.13 in a hotel?
OK. But don't forget Marek, I know where you live!
Hi Marek
As someone who has benefited form your knowledge and experience - can you expand on this view? I too am hesitating before upgrading from 8.1

I downloaded 10 yesterday evening and it's really improved my PC which was running very slowly on Windows 8 which I also really didn't like.
10 has got rid of that awful start up screen that I never used and everything is running much much quicker so I'm pleased with it. Although I've only be using it for a few hours so it's still early days.
It gets rid of IE (which I don't use) and has replaced it with a new browser called Edge, I haven't tried this yet. 10 also sets it's own apps as defaults for opening things (music, movies, web links etc) but I just changed these to my preferences.
It took ages to install, partly because the first refresh crashed which I left for about half an hour but then got fed up and forced a restart. Luckily it was ok and carried on with the installation.
