Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hi

Does anyone know where you can dispose of old electrical items like old phones. I don't want to have to go all the way to the dump. Sainsbury's have some recycling in their car park but they don't seem to have anywhere to get rid of  electrical things

If you have old mobile phones a lot of charities will take them as they can be refurbished and sold on. Guide Dogs for the Blind certainly do!

Thanks Justin that's useful to know although it's a home phone I am that I am getting rid of

As luck would have it I found a small electrical item recycling point just the other day at the Ducketts Common end of West Green Road! Well, noticed rather than found perhaps - my wife tells me it's been there for ages.. 8! It's just round the corner from Carlingford Road and I think there might be a clothes bank too but there is definitely an electrical recycling container.

There's a list of the locations of the big containers where you can recycle small electrical items on the council website here

That's helpful thanks Tessa

Er, the nearest one to central Harringay on that list is the one I already posted about?

Anything which can be re-used or refurbished can be donated to Bright Sparks near Finsbury Park.

They are a charity which create training opportunities testing and refurbishing electrical goods.

Don't! Can I have it? Looking for some old electrical items for my 10-year-old son to tinker with.

Would love to swing by and pick it up - you'd be doing us a favour!

Hi Katherine

You're in luck as I haven't thrown it away yet. Happy to give it to you
