Had a letter through the door yesterday from the production crew of BBC's SIlent Witness to warn us that they will be filming on the Green Lanes/Umfreville Road junction on 8th and 9th July.
Apparently one of the flats on Green Lanes has been cast as the home of one of the characters and they will be filming some entry and exit scenes for that character as well as some other footage along Green Lanes for ambiance.
Some parking spaces on Green Lanes, Burgoyne and Umfreville will be suspended.
What sort of character do you think they will have decided lives on Green Lanes? Will it be the murderer or the one of the victims?

At least it is not Morse. There would be carnage if it were with bodies piling up left and right....
Turns out it was a Turkish mafia lieutenant. Typical!
Does anyone know where that distinctive-looking housing estate they featured was?
So nowhere near Green Lanes at all then!
But more photogenic than Rowley Gardens.
Watching this brought to mind an episode of 'Minder' (the George Cole and Dennis Waterman comedy drama) that was set on Green Lanes. Broadcast in January 1980, the plot was that they assist Charlie, a Greek Cypriot newly arrived in London, but learn that he’s come with a rifle in order to kill Omar, the Turkish Cypriot man he believes killed his brother in Cyprus. Terry minds the restaurant run by Charlie's cousin Christina, and finds himself in the middle of a potential 'honour killing'. Terry delivered the immortal line " 'ere, you can't just go topping Turks".
It's Rowley Way on the Alexandra and Ainsworth estate in NW8. When you leave Euston Station by train it's the stepped concrete structure you see above you on the left a couple of minutes after departure. Grade II listed a few years ago. I used to manage it in the 80's.
