Santander Green Lanes is closing..
Just got a letter in the post telling me that our local Santander branch is closing at the end of June.
For anyone who banks in person or runs a business, this coupled with the impending closure Post Office is going to be a real blow

As you say compounded by any Post Office closure, even more vital that the P O remain and campaign against its closure.

Hi Maggie. You are so right, this a double whammy for people who use both services. It will also hit local businesses as the reduction in 'footfall' will impact hugely on the small outlets in the immediate vicinity, one owner this week said to me he could 'go under'! I honestly believe that we could at least save the Post Office if we all stick together. I know and understand there are some who believe local communities can have no impact but I would say look at the Crown Post Offices in Crouch End and Muswell Hill which are still open after a year of being on the 'hit list'!

Although its external one is the worst. Seems to have suffered multiple times with cards being skimmed.

Hi Gordon - Would I be right in assuming you were being ironic and this doesn't actually appear on any correspondence? It's not on the letter I received! As you used quotation marks I thought I would check and in the unlikely event this actually exists I would be very grateful for a copy / image. We live in hope!

He's not being ironic, my letter says that "In addition, Santander current account customers can also use the Post Office for services such as cash and cheque deposits, withdrawals and to check account balances." It's in the third paragraph down the letter under the heading 'Managing your money'.

Wow - thank you, I've re-read mine and it's not there, they must have changed it along the way. Can you get me a copy / image please.

Do you have a Santander current account? I'm guessing that there are specific types of account (mortgages for example) that you can't do via the post office.
