PLEASE JOIN ME .... WE NEED MORE VOICES .... to complain about rubbish collection and the state of the streets around Turnpike Lane Tube. The area is dirty. Every day, morning and evening, bags of rubbish are piled around the bins at the end of Frome Road, outside the station and on Westbury.
There is no good reason why standards and service should be lower around TP Lane. But they are. Green Lanes/Manor House is cleaner and better cared for. The new paving will do nothing to make the area look better until the basics are taken care of.
I have downloaded the 'Our Haringey' App, contacted the council and am tweeting pics daily to @VeoliaUK I am @itsafaff. Please join me in making our service providers aware of the problems until they do something about it - They must provide a service that meets the needs of the area and get local shops involved in keeping the streets around them cleaner.
Anyone who uses the pigeon-poo infested alley that cuts through from the stn to Westbury will know what a filthy hole it is. At night it's intimidating, unlit and smells of weed. It should be cleaned of the poo, lit and ideally have a security camera to deter the obvious dealing.
The app and twitter make it easier to have a voice. I am fed up of walking past this, smelling it, seeing the area getting short changed. Why can't local shops get out a boom or a shovel and spend 30 mins a day cleaning around their pavement?
Anyone else live around here and feel the same? Any ideas for what else we can do about it?

Great work jackie, and thanks for the reminder. Lots of stuff is getting dumped at the end of Langham road and now which is really obnoxious. I'll get on to the council
Green lanes/ Manor House is in Hackney that's why!
In my bit of Seven Sisters Road close to the border, Hackney are doing such a remarkably better job of managing the trash that you'd think Haringey would be embarrassed into action. You can more or less navigate by the sudden lack of adequate bins and endless marooned rubbish sacks.
I agree, and have followed you Jackie. I am @ktkinnear on twitter. I also suggest you contact the West Green councillors Toni Mallett @mallett_toni, Eugene Akwasi-Ayisi @Eugene_ayisi, Eddie Griffith and also Stuart McNamara the Environment guy at the council @SJMMcNamara stuart.mcnamara@haringey.gov.uk
