- I don't think I was correcting you, Peter. The issue of lack of social housing is based on flawed housing policy that goes back to the 80s. So, in that sense, it *has* been coming for 40 years - as soon as politicians started the war on council housing and council estates at a national level. The previous generation of politicians used HMOs as a short term solution to a housing crisis precipitated by this national policy and this happened across the country. Haringey has been particularly lax at control and now those chickens are coming home to roost.
