Dog mauls our cat to death

Careless owner and dog return next day and enter yard again

Last month, an off-lead dog entered the front yard of our next door neighbours where our cat was relaxing as she usually does and mauled her to death. The owner made very little effort to stop the dog attack and even proceeded to return with the dog the next day to let it roam the front yard again. Intended to post this last month but have been busy with the police who unfortunately are unable to do anything about the attack as the man is unidentifiable. Our family is devastated about the loss of our sweet Tiddles who we have had for over 13 years. I feel I would be doing a disservice to the community by not sharing this as next time it might not be a cat, but a young child. To the man who continues to allow his clearly aggressive dog to roam the streets (we have caught it on our doorbell camera), you should be ashamed of your dangerous actions.

This incident occurred on Effingham Road. If anyone happens to recognise the owner or dog please do let us know. Please keep your agressive dogs on a leash.

Oh god I am so, so sorry. The first video is utterly horrific and distressing to watch and as a dog owner myself I am appalled at the man's callousness in just letting it happen and then returning the next night. He does look similar to a man I've seen taking a muzzled bully-style dog into Ducketts Common during the day on a lead but I can't be sure. The dog is always straining on the lead and goes for other dogs and the man just laughs. I'm glad you've informed the police and if I see anyone who looks like him, I'll be sure to report him to them and you.

Again, I'm so sorry.

Thank you so very much for your response.

Absolutely horrible for you, what a nightmare. I’m so sorry.

How absolutely awful for you and your poor cat.
There has been numerous comments across WhatsApp groups regarding an unleashed dog that fowls the ladder roads whilst being walked late at night.
I will share to groups as a warning because it would appear that anything could be a target, and I have come across him late evening, whereby my doggy wanted to play with him and the owner then warned me &  leashed him.
I have been given clearer footage to post, and would advise that if anyone sees him walking the dog, to call the police.

This is more helpful than you know. The police have advised us to contact them if we find anything more on the man. This footage and the information you provided could be very useful to the investigation. My uncle has also told me about an aggressive off-lead dog in the area at night. I'm honestly convinced we're all talking about the same dog.
