Turnouts of 18 and 23% ?

ffs

thanks Michael. I wonder if there has been a falling away for Green votes back to Libdems?

I was thinking the same thing Philip. And John, yes, a turn out like this makes you want to weep. Perhaps if voting ballot papers included a 'none of the above' tick box then no one would have an excuse not to vote.

The Labour party could get a mule elected in Tottenham and bits of H&WG at the moment. The place to weep is at the selection, which was by some accounts fiddled again in Stephen Mann's case. 23%? You'd be lucky if there were 23 people.

OMG! :)

I wonder if turnout and majorities have changed since Jeremy Corbyn was elected leader.
At least the turnouts of 18% and 23% were higher than the turn out for the police commissioners national election which was an average of 14.7% with Staffordshire scoring 11% and one small area in Wales with a boycott and no one turing out.

It makes a nonsense of the Tories insisting that Trade Unions have to have 50% turnout while at the same time refusing them methods to increase membership involvement such as work place ballots and secure electronic balloting. As the TUC says, under the new rulings an abstention is turned into a 'No' vote.
