Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Dear public

Health Minister Jeremy Hunt is about to sign-off secret plans to force changes to local NHS services. And it’s all just to cut costs. The plans could mean cuts to hospital beds, making waiting times longer, and cutting NHS staff. [1]

The plans - called a "capped expenditure process" - are being finished right now and Tottenham is in the shortlist of areas which could get the first round of cuts. [2] Because the plans are secret, it's hard to say exactly which services near you could be at risk. But the scale of the threat is clear - NHS bosses have been told to 'think the unthinkable' for these plans. [3] No wonder Jeremy Hunt doesn't want us to see them!

The best way to stop these cuts is to get them out in the open and demand that our NHS is funded properly. So please can you sign the petition now, demanding that Jeremy Hunt publishes these plans for local NHS cuts? It only takes 30 seconds to add your name:

If you’re thinking this all sounds a bit familiar, you’d be right. Together, we’ve exposed Jeremy Hunt’s secret plans before. Last summer, thousands of us chipped in to investigate the first round of secret NHS cuts called "sustainability and transformation plans". [4] We made headlines, from BBC News, to the front page of the Guardian. Our people-powered research was even quoted in Parliament as MP after MP said how shocked they were about the plans. Please sign the petition which came out today Friday 16th June.

The BMA is a left wing union with a track record of holding the public to hostage with the threat of strikes so they can work shorter hours for greater pay. Discredited!

The strikes were down to very unhappy doctors due cuts, longer hours and dodgy contracts . What on earth are you talking about when you say discredited? You really, really need to read other news media other than the current bun.

Are you an employer Neil? If you're not, you're in with the wrong crowd. Wouldn't you like to work "shorter hours for greater pay"? If not, you're a bit silly.

Oh and most unions are left wing. That's why tories hate them. How dare unions bring in such things as legal working hours, lunch breaks, sick pay, holiday pay, acceptable working conditions and wages, health and safety regulations . It's so frustrating that all those leeches in the service sector now get paid £7.50 an hour when a billionaire and his or her shareholder could have had them working for under a fiver. The irony of course is the vast majority of those who read the sun work in that sector.
You can't have it both ways Neil. You say that doctors and nurses would be kicking up a fuss if there were problems and when people show you that they are, you just come back with them being "left wing". I suppose the question could be tuned around and you asked where is your evidence that doctors and nurses are happy with the current situation and future plans?

"The BMA is a left wing union with a track record of holding the public to hostage with the threat of strikes so they can work shorter hours for greater pay. Discredited!"

Maybe it's just me but that reads like a Trump tweet...

+1. Knavel is  the other current Trump write-alike.  'mostly harmless' seems to have moved on.

I see Trump won a handsome election in Georgia last week, adding to the woes of the Democrats, and his Lefty critics in the UK. How you must dislike democracy.

I suspect Trump will win a second term in office now.

Handsome, huh?

That congressional seat has been Republican since 1979.

2016: R 61.7% - D 38.3%

2017: R 51.9% - D 48.1%

That's a big old swing.

The Royal College of Nursing is going to be holding a demonstration against the 'capped expenditure process' on 27th June 12-14;00 pm outside the Department of Health, Whitehall.
