Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

The BBC reports that bins are to be installed in central London that will make throwing your rubbish away a more satisfying experience. These include saucy messages from Amanda Holden, Phil Tufnell calling 'Howzat', bins bursting into song and bins with basketball hoops.

The project has been created by Keep Britain Tidy in partnership with Liverpool City Central BID (Liverpool is to have bins singing Scaffold hit "Thank You Very Much") and the arts organisation Sing London.

The bins will be installed from 13 October and the ones in London will remain in the capital for two months, after which time they will tour the UK, returning for the Olympic Games in 2012.

If successful, they could become a permanent fixture.

BTW.. I forgot to mention - the round yellow 'thing' is not a loudspeaker.. it's the receptacle for cigarette butts - to stop the bins catching fire!  here: http://vimeo.com/24507352

When I was a kid in Germany the rabbit shaped bins would say "Danke!" when we put rubbish in, we kids literally cleaned the parks to feed the bins and make them talk!!!!
Great shot.. maybe they 'got knicked' too?
