Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!
HORNSEY HISTORICAL SOCIETY / CROUCH END FESTIVAL EVENTS
From Friday 7th June the “History of Crouch End” exhibition will be on display in HHS HQ, The Old Schoolhouse, 136 Tottenham Lane (corner of Rokesly Avenue) Hornsey N8 on open days (Friday 7th and 14th; Saturday 8th and 15th; and Thursday 13th June).
This illustrates Crouch End history with information about buildings, people and the area with photos and maps. Also on local surveyor and architect John Farrer (Priory Road area). Opportunity to browse books maps, DVDs on sale.
Also on Saturday 15th June, at Hornsey Library at 2:30 - 3:30pm
As part of “Invented Histories” you can meet the Hornsey Historical Society at their bookstall and discover the real facts about Crouch End’s fascinating history.
And on Sunday 16th June at 11:00am a “Beadwork Jewellery Making Workshop for Children Age 8+”. During this 2 hour workshop, children will be designing and making their own patterned beadwork bracelet. More info http://www.crouchendfestival.org/beadwork-jewellery-making-workshop...

The nearest Crouch End Festival event to Harringay might well be the Festival Art Show- they have a private view tonight at 7pm (opposite Hornsey Police Station) and there's a local comic-maker at the Fish and Chip Shop next door - unmissable!
Saturday is the busiest day for Festival explorers - earliest is probably the Festival Tree Walk @10am - an hour-long walk looking at and learning more about the trees in all our streets, free and open to all. This part of Crouch End is full of Cherry Trees and it can be rewarding to be able to identify some of the hundreds of trees each one of us pass practically every day as we walk along our streets.
After the walk, time to join the 'coffee republic' that is Crouch End, after which the Town Hall Square will be ready for a visit (noon onwards).
