Friends of Finsbury Park and X
The X account of the Friends of Finsbury Park, who have long and loudly campaigned against the repeated renting-out of our park to private businesses such as Wireless and Krankbrother, has been suspended.
Anyone on here know or have any idea why? I assume they have appealed, because I cannot for one moment imagine that a respectable body like this would post anything abusive, unpleasant or inappropriate. And I certainly hope that they have, because their decent and responsible voice is needed now more than ever, as the sounds of rap, thrash metal and repetitive beats invade our homes once again...

Brian, James has long been a defender of the council's Major Events policy and a critic of The Friends of Finsbury Park (a registered Charitable Trust; Patron Jeremy Corbyn MP).
We still see a hint of this with his reference to a committee of older citizens in quote marks.
When two years ago, we drew attention on our Twitter account to the effect of one of the council repeated Hires, James responded thus:

Oh James. You will be old one day. You might even find yourself without as much money as you'd hoped, in a flat or high-rise with Finsbury Park being the only green quiet space to which you have easy access. But of course we won't hear from you because you'll be dottering around trying to work out how to use the technology to communicate.
