Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Do you have any empty jam jars sitting around? FoodCycle need 'em!

The Station House Community Restaurant is a project of FoodCycle, a charity that reclaims food destined for the bin and turns it into delicious meals for all to enjoy. They offer a three-course vegetarian lunch on a pay-what-you-can basis every Friday, and have a range of jams and chutneys available for customers to purchase.

That's where you come in! If you have empty jam jars (with corresponding lids!) and are happy to donate them, please get in touch with Niki at niki@foodcycle.org.uk. They can collect them from you if you're local, or they can be dropped off at MIND Station House, 73C Stapleton Hall Road N4 3QF.

I have around ten- was keeping them for someone but they failed to collect and would be glad to be rid of them now as they taking up space. I like to see  jars reused- such a shame to put them in recycle bin. They are all washed with lids. Will try dropping them off today if possible- what time are you open?

Hi Ruth

This was posted on behalf of the Foodcycle team so they may not see your message. I do know that today is the day that they do the community lunches so maybe dropping in at lunchtime might be a good idea. Alternatively, dropping an email to Niki should answer your question.

Hi Liz

Have been in touch with Niki and going there later this morning with the said jars. Been trying to get them out of my cupboard for a while so this is timely

I went round to drop off jars but they couldnt use them unfortunately as they were different sizes and makes. They need the same sizes to sell the jams so best to check with them before going round with jars.

A pity as was looking forward to losing these jars! But Danny there made me very welcome and offered lunch which was brilliant. I have heard good things about the cafe and it's all true. The food was superb, very tasty and I managed all 3 courses... It's a great place, a real community centre and will be going there again for sure. Recommend it to all. Plus I bought some jam!

If anyone has jars that don't fit the needs of the Station House Community Cafe try Stroud Green WI who have just collected mine
