Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Concerned about commercial plugs on HoL? Frustrated at waiting for an estate agent to vet your views on the subject of estate agent hoardings?

Post here now on the no-delay, uncensored new thread! (subject of course, to overall HoL moderation). Here is at least one post that has yet to be approved by Steve on the blog he moderates:

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Steve, some of us on HoL are a bit slow and deaf and some folk (probably Alan) may have missed your earlier messages.

I'm sure you can understand that none of us would want to feel we are talking to a low-class estate agent with a below average reputation, particularly on the subject of estate agent boards.

Therefore, can you please either confirm or re-confirm:

Experience: how many years have you been valuing properties over a wide area?

Is your agency part of a London-wide chain with agencies in other Boroughs as well?

Are you a director of an estate agency?

Are you a hard-working estate agent with Saturday your busiest day?

Could the mobile number you've provided also be used to arrange new listings? ;-)

Is it possible to give an upbeat assessment of the state of the property market in order to boost commissions please? %-)

Do you believe that enterprising estate agents should seek out new media in which to achieve exposure, including media of varying appropriateness?

If you're a good boy about estate agents hoardings and, as you say, you have no influence over your competitors behaviour, is there much point to this conversation (apart from the plugs)?

Clive, even the anarchists are at it;

Matt, at least the anarchists are not taking a percentage out of someone's life-time savings (or from someone's huge debt burden). Insofar as any anarchist can be relied upon, they can be relied on not to be involved in the cash and commission economy (at least not in an organised way!)

It's a fundamental principle of English law (and fairness) that both sides of an argument are heard. Steve the estate agent tells us that his firm is clean and that at least some of his competitors are not so clean. It's inevitable that Steve's competitors would want to present their side of the story ...

You're inviting more estate agents onto HOL! Clive, you're such an anarchist. :)

Now I'm more than a little confused as to the point of this thread (!!!!!!!!!!!)
I DO NOT invite more estate agents onto HoL if their main object is to promote the name of their business. We have perhaps more than enough of that already.

Either we have a free-for-all open-slather of estate agents slagging each other off as to who is worse than who over their wretched boards (which approach might be fair to all estate agents), or we have none.

Which approach do you favour Matt, you scurrilous anarchist?!

Disclaimer: I am not involved directly or indirectly with the estate agent industry.
How can anarchists have official merchandise ?
what's the collective noun for estate agents ?
A grab
A pitch
what ?
A gel
A gazzump
A hoard(ing); a Castle
A Castle full of anarchists (Muswellites) trying to gel together with no rules, rather than gazzumping each other over radical plans to grab a pitch down in the lowlands (Harringayites) .... good prices on 3 bed terraces you know. :)

It's all too complicated !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (no sell intended).

[ A flock of seaguls is so much more free .... ]
Should any of the champagne anarchists/socialists/marxists/miserable sods who feel they want to antagonise every post on here is quite welcome to join the HOLSG for more real life input of the site rather than demonising everything and everybody - yawn!

Building bridges in our community is what HOL is about not bombing them and everybody who walks across it waving a white hanky.

On a side note, I personally have no problem with Steve coming on here sharing his concerns, I wouldn't have bothered if I was him though as he is in a lose/lose situation amongst the urban, verbal hooligans on here.

You don't have to use estate agents if you don't want to and I know many who haven't. A little bit of good old fashioned manners goes a long way, some could learn from that.
A Tosser of estate agents
