Got a three year old with chicken pox - and we're all going mad locked in the house. Anyone got any ideas where we can take her without the risk of infecting other people? Either locally or perhaps driving out of London (with the windows closed to prevent contagion, of course)

I think most people will be happy to get thier kids infected, particularly the younger ones who may not scratch much.
Er, not unwittingly. Anyone with a child who is innumocompromised won't want the pox.
You make a very valid point, and not only children who are immunocompromised, and pregnant women, but adults who have not been exposed or are compromised because of illness, cancer treatment or on steroids etc.and very young babies, so I would say stay clear of everyone apart from friends and family who are ok with it. So maybe contained in the corner of a field or open park preferably at a time of day when fewer people are around.
Maggie, that's exactly our conclusion. Better to keep it to ourselves . We're keeping her away from the grandparents, even though they've already had chicken pox, because one can get it twice
Trent Park during the school day. Great woods for her to have a run about in and (and take her mind off her itch) and cows to watch in the farmland.
Great idea, thanks Michael. Ideal spot for prisoners of war and contagious children
Find out if she is contagious still after so many days it leaves the body check online
I thought the contagion was from touching the spots/fluid at this stage, but can't remember! We managed to prevent our newborn catching it from his big brother.
Re grandparents, they should have built up immunity over their life through exposure to the virus (like you probably have). I think most multiple cases occur when the first one was a mild one.
I had to bring my son aged 2 on a train down from Yorkshire when he had just come down with chicken pox - I hid him on the seat beside me and luckily he slept most of the way.
