Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Nora Mulready, yes, still around and still thinking that the honest deselections this time around are worse than the dishonest ones she was engaged in last time around. BBC link here.

She's asking for an investigation into the biggest turnout of Labour Party members I’ve ever known, to pick candidates, where every step of the process was monitored and audited?  Un-bloody-believable!

staggering when you think how she dealt with the St Anns issue.

As I understand it from your link, she defended people who lived outside the ward being allowed to vote in a contentious selection meeting because the "right" candidates were selected - is that correct?

If so then her slightly inconsistent standards need to be more widely known ...

Yes. Those people seem to have the ear of the BBC etc though so god knows what people are thinking. Fake news indeed.

I couldn't quite believe my ears when listening to WatO today. Firstly because they gave her an extraordinary amount of airtime. Secondly because it was largely without direct rebuttal (apart from a tiny bit from McNamara who up until recently had been pro HDV) and also they didnt mention the HDV except stating *an estate is being regenerated*..which puts is rather mildly.

I saw this woman in action at St Ann's selection just past and after looking up who she was and what she had been involved with was staggered to find your accounts of prior shenanigans. Absolutely incredible.

The tone on this forum is that anyone who is not a Corbyn lover and Momentum backer will not be heard and faces online bullying. Not all Haringey residents think along the same lines of the loudest (and most aggressive) voices in this forum.

Sorry you feel that way. I despair of the discord that too often characterises the political threads. However whilst I recognise that there may be some Momentum supporters on HoL as elsewhere, I'm surprised to read that you feel the tone on this forum is Corbynite.

That aside, if there is any particular instance of bullying you're concerned about please let me know.

As a Labour Party member and one time momentum activist I have never come across anyone of similar ilk who believes in anything other than civilised discourse. It is quite dishonest to present us in this way. It is a sign of intellectual bankruptcy...

Read my comment about discord again, Philip and then explain to me why you think it refers to 'you' alone.

Wasn't replying to you Hugh, so not sure what you mean?

I see; my mistake then.

If your comments were aimed at Mimi, may I suggest that particularly given your stated party connections, an empathic response seeking to understand what was behind Mimi's concerns may have been more appropriate than your robust approach.

I am sorry you feel this way too Mimi. I have seen quite a hard push both ways, with some conversations totally shut down by those i would characterise as *anti Corbyn* and *anti Momentum*. The truth of it is we all have to be exposed to ideas that we don't necessarily agree with, this is actually helpful and widens our understanding. I haven't seen any bullying.
