Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Camilla sports a pair of black fluffy slippers for visit to Wightman Road Mosque

The Duchess of Cornwall visited the Wightman Road mosque last Wednesday to recognise and support the work they've undertaken encouraging the community to get the coronavirus vaccine.

Camilla, was welcomed by Sister Bibi Khan, President of the London Islamic Society, and saw how the organisation has supported their community through the pandemic.

Members of the mosque have helped those in need by distributing food hampers as well as providing counselling and advice to those struggling.

The mosque was also the first to hold a pop-up vaccine centre in the area to encourage those reluctant to be vaccinated to come forward.

It is hard to recognise the duchess in this garb but the court circular confirms that she did indeed visit our local mosque on 7th April.

You thought even for a moment that HoL would carry fake news? I'm horrified, Dick!

Certainly not. I was merely seeking to reassure other readers who might be less mindful of HoL's meticulous professional rectitude.

Actually, I think it is good to draw attention to the mosque. I was lucky enough to visit it once myself, courtesy of an invitation sought by the Hornsey Historical Society. I was very impressed. The visit was hosted by Bibi Khan and included talks by the imam and an account of the communal efforts that led to the acquisition and construction of the building. Much was made of the fact that the funding was wholly based on local collection and no money had been accepted from, for example, Saudi sources.

Just joshing.

That sounds like a worthwhile visit. I've been and had an informal chat, but not had the chance to hear he talk.

She even stooped to visiting Tottenham!
