Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

For a few days now I've suspected something was afoot with Turnpike Lane's Banksy; it's been surrounded by scaffolding and tarpaulin since Wednesday - and there was a security van present for much of that time.

This morning I had a sneaky look under said tarpaulin to find it had been removed. I spoke to the guy rendering the wall and he said that after repeated attempts to gouge it out, the owner of the Poundland building had decided to take steps to 'preserve' it. He wasn't sure where it's gone...one can only wonder if it's been sold. Sad to see it go - it was nice to have a landmark of sorts...

Nice one Eddie.

Someone's just painted a large erect penis on the wall. Wonder what the Council will make of that? (X-rated hence the blue box)and this stencil is new

A Wanksy?

BTW - looks more like an Olympic mascot.

Wait till I get my hands on the scumbag who stencilled over that poor lady. Political correctness gone mad I tells you. Bleeding middle classes and all their pinko angst, that's who I blame for getting us into this mess I tells you!

Let's see BBC ITN CBS cover that one :-)

When all four walls and windows of Poundland are covered in increasingly obscene and competitive tagging (not graffiti) I wonder if the owners will begin to regret their action?

back in my day the testicles would have had hair on them. a sign of the times I suppose. nevertheless i like to think its an original banksy. perhaps some perspex needs to ordered.

Brilliant... I wasn't keen on the bald one. This is much better. ..

The hair was much needed :D

The attention to detail is stunning. This must be a Banksy. Perspex please. Make sure was all tweet the relevant councillors.

Looks like a bomb to me.

Is this a Banksy?   If so, I'd be tempted to fire up the white van

I'm not sure when it appeared, but I think that it was there before certain recent discoveries. It's funny how street art is often controversial.

It's in Clarence Road, N15
